Lil Wayne Slams False Rumours Claiming His Daughter Had Died

US rapper Lil' Wayne has assured his fans that his daughter is healthy and well after a number of websites claimed she had died in a car accident.

�Please allow me to scatter any rumours or speculations and written report that my daughter is alive, tidy and encircled by family who guardianship and love her affectionately,� the rapper said.

Reports claiming that the rapper's 8-year-old girl, Reginae Carter, had died in a car accident began circulating online yesterday (August 11th).

It's thought the rumour stemmed from a post on the rapper's website.

In a statement, Lil Wayne hit out at publications that had carried the chronicle, calling the rumours �completely false and unfounded�.

�Neither Reginae nor whatever other extremity of my family has been involved in whatever car accident.

�My family and I really appreciate the concern and support shown to us,� he added.

Avril Lavigne isn't 'too sexy' for Malaysia after all

August 21, 2008 () - Canadian singer Avril Lavigne is going in the lead with her August 29 concert in Malaysia, obstinate to press reports that it has been postponed / called off because Malaysia's governance felt it could mar the country's Independence Day celebrations.

"Well, I've actually been approved by the government to play a show," Avril told MTV newsworthiness on Thursday, August 21. "I've already sold 10,000 tickets there, so I will be going to put on a concert for the fans.

"They tend to, you cognise, sometimes non want Western artists in their state," she continued. "I respectfulness that, only at the same time, you do it, there's people that listen to music there and want to see their idols and stuff, so it's all good: been approved by the government and [I'm] going to go put on a show and have fun."

Malaysia's Islamic opposition party, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, is reported to be opposed to the concert because Avril's moves and phase show were "too sexy."

Malaysia mandates that performers be covered from chest to knees, avoid clothes that feature obscene or drug-related images, and refrain from jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing onstage.

Some past performers who have fallen dirty of conservatives in the generally lead Muslim rural area include the Pussycat Dolls, Gwen Stefani, Beyonc� and Christina Aguilera.

Malaysia marks its 51st year of independence from Britain on August 31.

Newman back in theatre as director

Paul Newman will be back in the theatre again this autumn, directing a production of a stage classic.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the 83-year-old will direct a production of John Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men' at the Westport Country Playhouse in Connecticut.
The play runs from 7 to 25 October.
Newman's wife, Joanne Woodward, is Co-Artistic Director at the Westport Country Playhouse.

Most Watch TV On Computers To Catch Up

The overwhelming majority of persons who watch television shows on their computer monitors do so to catch an episode they missed on TV, according to a study conducted by Nielsen Media Research for the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing and reported by Broadcasting & Cable magazine. The survey of adult broadband users found that 35 percent of them have watched a TV show on the Internet. Of those, 87 percent said that they watched the shows on a network website. Nevertheless, 94 percent of those surveyed said that prefer watching television shows on their television sets.
